CSR
Nexans has been awarded a Platinum medal for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) performance
Nov 1, 2022On October 14, 2022, Nexans was awarded a 78/100 rating and a Platinum Medal for its CSR performance evaluation by EcoVadis.
This is the third consecutive year that Nexans succeeds to maintain this rating. This overall score positions the Group in the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the Manufacture of wiring and wiring devices industry.
This agency bases its evaluation on Nexans 2021 results and assesses the Group’s non-financial performance according to 4 pillars: Environment, Social & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
Nexans is playing a major role in creating a viable and sustainable world, taking a further step towards the contribution to carbon neutrality by 2030.
For instance, Nexans’ climate strategy is shared internally with employees through the internal Planet Week, the deployment of the Climate Fresk®; and externally by hosting the annual Nexans Climate Day with key leaders in sustainability.
Nexans is committed to promoting diversity and eliminating all forms of discrimination in terms of employment and occupation.
The Group has defined a Human Rights Charter, co-developed with employee representative bodies, and has incorporated it into the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
Nexans Ethics Compliance Program defines actions to prevent, detect and manage ethical risks to which the Group is exposed in the conduct of its activities around the world.
Through the update of its Supplier CSR Charter and the reinforcement of our suppliers’ assessment the Group the Group ensures that its ecosystem applies to the CSR principles: human rights and labor standards, environment, and ethics and business conduct.
Moreover, Nexans contributes to Circular Economy through customized cable recycling solutions. This service allows the Group’s customers and partners to monetize and dispose of their leftover copper and aluminum cables while contributing to the circular economy.
