ACIC-PCS is a 90C dry / 75C wet 600V armoured cable with 2 or 3 PVC/Nylon insulated solid copper conductors + 2 PVC/Nylon insulated control wires in a separately jacketed PVC sub-assembly + a bare copper ground.
Colour coding
- 2c + 2c constructions:
- 1 black and 1 white circuit conductors, 1 pink and 1 purple control conductors assembled in a blue jacket, 1 bare copper grounding conductor.
- 3c + 2c constructions:
- 1 black, 1 red, and 1 white circuit conductors, 1 pink and 1 purple control conductors assembled in a blue jacket, 1 bare copper grounding conductor.
2024 CE Code references
12-106 Multi- and single-conductor cables
12-904 Conductors in raceways
12-3030 Insulated conductors in boxes, cabinets, or fittings
Why would we need it?
- Can be used when conductors are connected to different sources of voltage and are functionally associated, for example:
- Indicating devices such as pilot lights and alarms; or
- Control circuits of standby power systems, industrial control panels, and adjustable speed drives
- Cost effective alternative to installations in conduit.
Applications:
- For exposed and concealed wiring in wet or dry locations
- For use in ventilated, non-ventilated, and ladder-type cable trays
- For power, control and signal branch circuits for commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-residential buildings.
- LED lighting control and 0-10V dimming
